The way it goes!

We went to Leah's wedding and I thought I would have my mom take a picture of us all dressed up.....but I was too late. Trav changed, but I think we still look good together- and yes, it's an alien t-shirt.

Oh girls, they want to have fun!

This may be our last "Girls' Day" for the summer. It is always a treat to have adult conversations and shopping. Thanks, Donald, for taking our pic. Next time, remind me to reapply the lipstick. Luv ya beautiful girls!

"You Rock".....twice!!!

Quinn has been practicing his Guitar Hero game on the Wii. We've notice both boys getting better and better. Tonight he came running to tell me that he "Rocked" the song "I Want To Rock and Roll All Night". I ran to the TV and witnessed this to be true. He then followed that victory by Rocking "Hit Me With Your Best Shot". I am so proud of my little game playing Rock star! Go Quinn!!! Mommy's proud of you!

Nighties for the Bride!

Pictures from Leah's shower- She got the funniest Honeymoon kit, featured above. Best wishes to the bride!!!!!!

Thank You Mail Man!

The boys were excited that the mailman brought them both packages today. FYI- I did not let him take all the credit!

They were so happy that their backpacks for school arrived. These backpacks will need to last a very, very long time. I ordered them from Pottery Barn Kids. Ouch on the checkbook!

The Game of War

I taught the boys how to play my favorite child-hood card game, "War". They received a deck of "Cars" cards for their birthday one year, and thought it was about time they learned how to play. Didn't take em long to catch on!

Rock On Rock Stars

Today I was getting ready in my room when I heard my two "rockstars" performing at their latest gig. Quinn was playing lead guitar and Hayden was following with the plastic clarinet. Both would jam out for a while and then Quinn would thank the crowd multiple times and follow with this statement: "Now remember, I'm Jake, and he's Ethan, and we thank you guys for coming out tonight!" Then they would continue the jam session. I think it may be the start of something!!!

Luau on the 4th of July

Have you ever seen such a large collage? I did not want to leave out any of the pictures I took at Missy and Skeeter's 4th of July Luau. We had a great time swimming and setting off the "country-style" fireworks. Our friends, the Martins, came out to the country to enjoy legal firework setting. Poor Bill, though, was pushed into the pool with his all of his clothes on (he wore jeans....ouch!). When the night hit, the kids enjoyed sparklers and setting off fireworks in Papaw's field. This year, we managed not to set our neighbors Pompas grass on fire! As much as I dislike my camera, it does have a stellar night vision. Most of these were taken in complete darkness. Pretty cool!

Firework Extravaganza

Last night, 18 of our family and close friends parked at the top of our new lot and watched the Canyon West Fireworks Extravaganza. The view was AWESOME! Maybe next year there will be an actual house (and driveway) to visit. We had quite an eventful night....

#1- I got our truck stuck on the incline. Yes, I'm well aware you

approach a steep grade at an angle. Ironically I told the boys

that same instruction on their 4-wheelers in the back yard. However, I was

trying to follow tracks that obviously did not belong to a truck

(obviously)! Luckily my brother-in-law had a bungy rope and

with all the men's help...we became unstuck- with minimal damage!

#2- Our new neighbors put on a show of self importance. You just had

to be there to fully understand!

#3- As we were leaving, the gates to exit would not open. We were stuck

waiting until our "important neighbor" came to open the gates.

#4- We got to sit in line on the access road out of the gates for quite a

while waiting on the firework traffic.

#5- We ended the night with some Guitar Hero at Bryan and Laci's.

My boys are quite good at the guitar......my future rock stars!

All in all, an outstanding night. Now we have at least 4 things to laugh about tonight at Missy's 4th of July party!
